Our Mission

To empower every member of the Clarksville community, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, by providing equitable access to essential services that support mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being.

Hate Has No Home in Clarksville

Clarksville will not tolerate hate because hatred corrodes everything that holds a community together — trust, safety, opportunity, and mutual respect — and the cost is far greater than any loud, short-lived headline. When discrimination, intimidation, or exclusion take root, they push neighbors apart, undermine schools and workplaces, erode public safety, and drive out the very talent, visitors, and businesses we need to thrive. Hate harms children who learn fear instead of empathy, it silences minority voices, and it creates lasting trauma that reduces civic participation and weakens our economy. We refuse to accept that as our legacy. Instead, Clarksville stands for accountability, education, and restorative action: we will investigate incidents promptly, support survivors, require consequences for perpetrators, and invest in programs that teach inclusion and cultural competency. Our community leaders, schools, businesses, faith institutions, and residents are united in the belief that diversity is a strength, not a problem to be managed, and that protecting the dignity of every person makes our neighborhoods safer and more prosperous for everyone. Additionally, we recognize the importance of food assistance in Clarksville and housing services in Clarksville to support those affected by hate and discrimination. Tolerance is not passive; it is active work — clear policies, accessible reporting, community conversations, and ongoing support for victims, including access to mental health resources in Clarksville — and Clarksville is committed to doing that work until hate no longer finds purchase here.
